Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Staff accounts: name, email, phone number, profile photo, job title and signature.
• Customers (entered by staff): name, ID or passport number, ID document photos, phone, email, address, occupation, employer and employment type, and salary-deduction (SSB) details for civil servants.
• Agreements and payments: device details (brand, model, IMEI, serial number, photos), prices, instalments, payments, receipts and signatures.
• Camera: used only when staff choose to photograph a device, a box label or an ID document, or to scan a barcode.
• Activity log: which staff member did what and when, for audit purposes.

How we use it

Only to run device-financing agreements: creating and signing agreements, recording payments, issuing receipts, contacting customers about their account, and keeping an audit trail. We do not sell information, show ads, or use it for marketing.

Sharing

Information is shared only with service providers that run the app for us (secure cloud hosting and storage, an AI service that reads text from photos staff take, and our company Google Drive where agreement and receipt PDFs are backed up), with Samsung Knox Guard where a financed phone needs to be managed, and where Zimbabwean law requires it.

Security

All data is sent over encrypted connections, kept in private storage and visible only to signed-in GadgetGenie staff. Payments are never deleted, so financial records stay complete.

Keeping and deleting data

Agreement and payment records are kept for as long as the law requires for financial records. Staff can delete their own account in Settings, or see how to delete your account. Customers can ask us to see, correct or delete their information by contacting us below.
